The Monarch Butterfly Conservation Education Project (Proyecto de Educaci\u00f3n para la Conservaci\u00f3n de la Mariposa Monarca<\/em>) has been energetically carried out among key groups in Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, San Luis Potos\u00ed and Zacatecas, states that the species cross on their southbound route. Launched in 2014 as an initiative of Ecosist\u00e9mica, A.C.\u2014an organization that promotes and conducts studies focusing on the knowledge, conservation, management and awareness of Mexico’s natural and cultural diversity\u2014the project proposes to create awareness of the monarch’s importance and to foster the creation of pollinator gardens with native plants, as a way to conserve this and other species.<\/p>\n

This effort is supported by environmental education, training and monitoring activities, and close collaboration with institutions that promote monarch conservation in Mexico.<\/p>\n
