The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority provides technical assistance and direct financial payments to implement BMPs that reduce impacts to water quality. Activities like creating and enhancing natural areas may be covered (100%) up to C$20,000. Landowners may apply and Environmental Farm Plans are required. Other projects may be funded under this program, including projects that may not fit existing categories, but all projects must protect or improve water quality or fish and wildlife habitat (TRCA 2016).
