Initiated in 2015, the Missourians for Monarchs–Naturalists and Gardeners project brings together all state Master Naturalist and Master Gardener chapters as well as garden clubs. The program provides education presentations across the state of Missouri and also focuses on promoting habitat creation. The project sets yearly goals for acreage of habitat planted and is mapping these habitat locations as they are created. The program has spearheaded the expansion of monarch conservation partnerships across the state and led to the creation of the organization Missourians for Monarchs (Lee 2016).
