“The US Forest Service will conserve, restore and monitor restoration success of occupied and suitable western monarch habitat on the San Bernardino National Forest by protecting existing milkweed populations, propagating, out-planting, and direct seeding three local milkweed species and five nectar species. The project will impact 4,166 acres [1,685 hectares] at six locations on the San Bernardino National Forest recovering from wildfire” (Edelen 2015).
