A virtual platform conceived to enter, view and identify fauna and flora records from Mexico and around the world, Naturalista is a space where people can add and share observations on biodiversity and consult with professionals and specialists regarding taxonomy issues.

This platform was created in collaboration with the National Commission for the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity (Comisión Nacional para el Conocimiento y Uso de la Biodiversidad—Conabio) and iNaturalist.org. The Monarch Butterfly Project was created in 2014, to record monarch sightings through citizen and park ranger monitoring, thereby compiling a national time and space map pf the fall and spring migrations. Through November 2016, 3,471 observations were recorded on the species, around the country.
