The Texas Monarch Watch project was established in 1993 to record sightings of monarchs moving south in the fall migration. It is interested in reports of overnight roosts or significant numbers of monarchs flying south, including an assessment of the available nectar resources, the temperature and the wind direction at the location of the sighting (Texas Monarch Watch 2015).
